Re: Student Study Habits

Late last year, an article ran in the Minnesota Daily regarding the amount of time students spend studying outside of class. At Craig’s request, both the Academy’s Executive and Twin Cities Steering Committees have discussed this issue in recent meetings. We share the enclosed statement (download PDF) regarding the issues raised by various surveys that track the amount of time students spend studying, outline those issues we believe are most in need of further exploration, and offer to partner with your offices in any efforts to create and communicate a clear set of expectations regarding necessary levels of studying.

We look forward to your response.
